Tashkent by Cheyenne

Soft and hard elements come together in Tashkent by Cheyenne.

Conceived in 2005, the Tashkent by Cheyenne collection debuted for the Winter 2006 Season. The name Tashkent was the birthplace of Cheyenne’s father’s mother. A place they had heard about only in stories. The word Tashkent embodies the memory of her grandmother, and the coarse beauty of her life.

After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, with a major in sculpture, Cheyenne Morris never intended to be a shoe designer but was more interested in the human form, especially the foot. She went on to enroll in the Fashion Institute of Technology’s shoe construction program, where her interest led her to expand her knowledge in the history of footwear.

Tashkent by Cheyenne brings traditional handmade Italian craftsmanship together with a fresh aesthetic. Luxury materials such as soft leathers and suedes, and textural linens blend with metal adornments to create a delicate but raw feel.
