With Earth Day around the corner and new arrivals just hitting the shelves from Cydwoq, we thought we'd take the opportunity to highlight Cydwoq's environmentallly friendly approach to design and business practices.

"From a young age, Rafi was taught by his father to appreciate the quality and artistry of vegetable-tanned leathers. To this day, these early lessons have stuck as rolls and rolls of the best Italian hand-painted leathers line the walls of the CYDWOQ factory. Natural choices dominate the “ingredients” of our products. In shoe construction, the uppers are hand-lasted to the leather insoles using water-based, biodegradable glues. Once inspected, the shoes are packed in our distinctive cotton bags and recycled cardboard boxes.

Most shoe companies make only the uppers and get the components from third parties. At CYDWOQ, our factory manufactures the complete shoe with 90% of the components (e.g., heels, insoles, outsoles, wooden soles) constructed in-house.

 We take inspiration from nature, and our efforts to preserve and protect the environment are our way of returning the favor"

This approach is not only integral to creating such beautiful and unique footwear, but is easier on the earth and leads to happier, healthier employees.

Argila is one of our perhaps lesser known, but most loved brands. Not only are the styles irresistible, blending traditional men's wear detailing with feminine curves and silhouettes, but the integrity of each shoe is remarkable. If the buttery soft veg-tanned leathers aren't enough, the quality of construction and undeniable comfort are sure to convince. And to top it all off, these wonderful designs are all hand crafted in the small island of Meroca, Spain; a place where women have long been valued for their role in the shoe industry.  Here these skilled craftspeople take pride in each step of the process, from sewing patterns, to paper-filling each shoe in the final packaging stage.
